Strathmore is located in the North-Western suburbs about twelve km from central Melbourne. It is an area well served by public transport and is adjacent to the Tullamarine Freeway.
It is primarily a residential zone with two local shopping areas which cater for all the basic household requirements. There is little or no secondary industry. Strathmore is well established with little prospect for new home building. However, demolition and rebuilding is common and there has been an influx of families with children buying into the area.
Local facilities/resources which can be used by the school include the Strathmore Railway Station, Cross Keys Reserve, Napier Park, Woodlands Park, Melbourne, Moonee Valley Library, Aberfeldie and Coburg Athletics Park, Oak Park Pool, Queens Park Pool and Windy Hill Leisure Centre.
